So, I got a new phone… It’s a flip phone… Complete with a bright purple case and little daisy charm.
And I’m SO happy with it. I love the the feel and sound of the metal charm that jingles between my fingers, love the satisfying clack of the phone when slamming it shut.
But mostly, I love the things I’m not experiencing because of this flip phone.
A few days ago, I changed my Facebook cover photo. (Not a super-compelling life update, I know…) But it’s significant because my cover photo for the last year and half was an adorable black and white picture of Baby Dawes and me.
I’ve now updated it to be a random image of a flower wall I took 2 seconds to find on Canva.
Is blogging still a thing anymore? I can always tell that the person is asking for some kind of permission from the internet to start a blog, and looking for a sort of guarantee of success. And I don’t think that’s how blogging, at its essence, is supposed to be.
But also — what the hell do I know? I fully intended for my first blog to be immediately successful and hoped for it to make enough money to support my entire career lololol.
Let me just say, that I am a lover of communication — the sharing of ideas and experiences through photographs, music, writing — I dig it all. So why, then, do I sometimes feel uninspired after spending a portion of my day scrolling through my various social media accounts?
